Transportation Manager — Jeddah

ALJ Logistics operates within Abdul Latif Jameel's transportation business, focusing on logistics operations and commercial services. Its activities include freight forwarding, transportation, warehousing, customs coordination, and cross-border logistics.

Role Purpose:

Manage domestic transportation operations across KSA, ensuring safe, compliant, cost-effective, and reliable fleet and subcontracted transport services that meet customer and operational requirements.

Key Activities:

Plan and manage transportation capacity, routes, dispatching, driver allocation, and delivery execution across KSA.

Manage owned fleet and subcontracted carriers, including service levels, rates, documentation, and performance. Provide timely operational reports and escalate capacity, safety, cost, and service risks.

Ensure compliance with transport regulations, permits, vehicle standards, driver requirements, safety, and security procedures. Maintain productive relationships with authorities, workshops, fleet providers, and transport subcontractors.

Control fleet utilization, fuel, maintenance, idle time, empty kilometers, claims, fines, and transport cost.

Lead incident management, service recovery, and root-cause corrective actions. Develop supervisors, dispatchers, and drivers through clear targets, training, coaching, and performance management. Use transport management systems, telematics, route optimization, and driver performance data to improve efficiency.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 8 years of experience in road transportation or fleet operations.

At least 3 years of experience in management.

Certification in Fleet Management, Transport Safety, Defensive Driving, or Supply Chain is preferred.

Professional proficiency in Arabic and English.
