Asian Cuisine Chef

Job Purpose

Responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of Asian dishes according to approved recipes and quality standards while maintaining food safety, hygiene, and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of Asian dishes according to established recipes and standards.

Prepare ingredients before service, including cutting, marinating, sauces, and mise en place.

Ensure consistency in taste, quality, portion size, and presentation.

Maintain high standards of food quality and minimize food waste.

Properly store food ingredients and monitor their freshness and expiry dates.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, workstations, equipment, and utensils.

Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.

Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service.

Monitor ingredient requirements and inform the supervisor of shortages or stock needs.

Assist in developing and improving dishes and recipes when required.

Follow instructions from the Head Chef or Kitchen Supervisor.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment at all times.

Skills

Qualifications & Experience

Previous experience as a Chef or Cook, preferably in Asian cuisine.

Good knowledge of Asian cooking techniques, ingredients, sauces, and preparation methods.

Ability to work efficiently under pressure and during busy service periods.

Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Good attention to detail, speed, and consistency.

Culinary training or a food safety certification is preferred.
